Description: Hot Docs, North America's largest documentary festival, accepts documentary submissions for inclusion in the following programmes: International Showcase, Canadian Spectrum, National Spotlight Programme (focussing on a different country/region each year). The festival also offers a full range of professional development, networking and market opportunities for documentary professionals including the Toronto Documentary Forum, a two-day pitching event bringing together independent filmmakers and documentary financiers/commissioning editors from around the world.
Further Details: The festival bestows a number of awards including Gold and Silver Awards for Best International and Best Canadian Documentaries, the Best First Documentary Award, the Humanitarian Award, and the Audience Award. For more information visit the website. Festival screenings April/May.
