B.C. Historical Federation Writing Competition

Deadline: December 31 of the year the book is published/copyrighted.

Eligibility: Books presenting any facet of British Columbia's history (non-fiction).

Value: 1st place: BC's Lieutenant-Governor's Medal and $2,500; 2nd place: $1,500 and 3rd place: $500

Description: Established in 1983, originally intended to encourage local history writers. Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation invites submissions for its Annual Historical Writing Competition to authors of British Columbia history; and the winning author is awarded the Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for Historical Writing.
