Owner: Kamloops Campus Community Radio Society
Extra Data: CFBX is a campus-based community station, and as such, it generally adheres to the policies, ideas and ideals of other campus stations, coast to coast. To make a long story short, CFBX is an alternative radio station that specializes in local programming and offers music and spoken-word shows that are normally not heard on private stations. We offer programming that ranges from classical to industrial, with plenty of international and unique shows added to the mix. We cater to an audience and to groups presently not served by commercial radio. We avoid the mainstream at all cost, and even our diverse rock programming will stay away from the hits and familiar acts. We strive to be informative and entertaining, but "weird and wonderful" is as applicable to our sound as anything else you can think of.

Perhaps our constitution sums it up best. The purposes of the Kamloops Campus/Community Radio Society are:

To serve, instruct and inform the TRU and Kamloops communities, through the medium of radio broadcasting and through access to the society's facilities, by offering diverse, alternative, progressive, informative and community-oriented programming, and by bringing thought to form and action.
To encourage co-operation, interaction, communication and understanding within and between the TRU and Kamloops communities, and to full reflect this radio community to the world beyond.
To provide a forum for the presentation of opinions, ideas and observations of individuals and groups to the greater community.
To encourage and present local artists and performers in their craft.
To increase awareness of the power and potential of radio.
To encourage and inspire a positive use of radio, promoting fairness, clarity and efficiency.

This radio station also closely follows the Statement of Principles issued by the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA), an important body of which CFBX is a member, that is dedicated to advancing the role and increasing the effectiveness of campus and community radio across the country:

Whereas campus/community radio is committed to providing alternative radio to an audience that is recognized as being diverse in ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, age, and physical and mental ability; And whereas NCRA members stations are committed to the principle of providing community-based programming to this diverse audience; And whereas mainstream radio fails to recognize, or in many cases reinforces, social and economic inequities that oppress women and minority groups of our society; Be it resolved that the NCRA holds as a fundamental principle that community broadcasting serves the needs of the socially, culturally, politically and economically disadvantaged groups in society. Be it further resolved that member stations of the NCRA encourage programming policies that prohibit material that is sexist, racist, ageist, homophobic, anti-Semitic, or that maligns differently abled or economically disadvantaged peoples.
