Ten directors whose terms were expiring were elected to serve for an additional three-year term and three ex officio directors were reappointed for a one-year term, in accordance with IFICs by-laws. The remaining 13 directors are continuing to serve out their terms. All of IFICs directors have played an exemplary role working with our regulators toward our common goal of a competitive and fairly regulated marketplace that enables Canadians to achieve their financial goals, Peters noted. We have an outstanding team that is committed to leading the industry to embrace not only the letter, but also the spirit of the new rules.
