Ontario Seventh Step Society
Part of an international non-profit organization operating self-help groups in prisons for inmates wanting to turn their lives around. Also runs groups on the street providing aftercare for ex-prisoners. Based on the Seven Steps to Freedom developed by a lifer, Bill Sands, in the 1950s. Peer support groups consist of cons, ex-cons and non-cons, bringing three perspectives to discussion.
