Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta
Alberta's Information and Privacy Commissioner is an Officer of the Legislature. As such, the Commissioner is independent of government.
The Commissioner has a broad range of responsibilities including reviewing information decisions made under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Health Information Act and the Personal Information Protection Act, and investigating complaints that personal information has been collected, used or disclosed in violation of these Acts.
