Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE) UNITE represents over 30,000 workers across Canada. UNITE was created in June of 1995 through the merger of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. While, as our name suggests, many UNITE members work in the clothing and textile industries, we also represent thousands of members in industries ranging from advanced materials to health care.
