International Joint Commission A permanent, unitary binational body set up pursuant to the Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909. Consists of three Canadian Commissioners, and three from the United States, with a Canadian co-chair and U.S. co-chairman. Permanent offices are maintained in Ottawa and Washington.
