The Japan Foundation A Tokyo-based non-profit foundation established in 1972 by the Government of Japan to promote cultural exchange with Japan. Programs focus on exchange of persons, support of arts exchanges, and enhancing Japanese studies (humanities, social sciences and language, primarily at the post-secondary level). Across Canada, programs are administered by the diplomatic missions of the Japanese government in Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Montreal. The Toronto facility includes seminar rooms, exhibition space, and a lending library with over 8,000 print and audio-visual materials.
