Extra Data: Formed in 1998 as a merger between CRSG and CFLI, two former stations, CJLO is Concordia University's one and only radio station. 100% non-profit, and run almost entirely by volunteers, the station is located in the heart of the Loyola campus in the NDG borough of Montreal. Our on-air personalities are the backbone of the station and there are over eighty DJ's spinning for your listening pleasure. Whether you are interested in Rock, Alt, Hip-Hop, RPM, Punk, Metal, Jazz, Blues, World, Country or Talk and Sports, CJLO has something for you, and is always looking for more on air talent.

From early 2003, CJLO has been streaming 7 days a week and in 2008 the station began broadcasting on 1690 AM throughout the Montreal area with 1000 watts of power. Our tower and transmitter are located in Lachine and we can be heard as far as Ottawa and Burlington, Vermont.

CJLO offers a wide variety of programming that truly encompasses the styles appreciated by all of Concordia's 40,000 students and by a wide range of other communities around Montreal. CJLO also hosts events throughout the city to help promote and support the community and musicians.

Notable achievements include winning Biggest Champions of the Local Scene at the 2012 CMJ Awards, Station of the Year at the 2010 CMJ College Day Awards along with awards for Best Use of Limited Resources, Best Team Effort, and the award for Best Newcomer for former RPM Director Adrian Warner. CJLO was also voted the 2nd best radio station in Montreal by Cult MTL readers in 2013, 6th best radio station by Montreal Mirror readers in the 2011 and 2010 Best of Montreal (BOM) Poll and 8th in 2009; and at previous CMJ College Day Awards, CJLO was the winner of Best Student Run, Non-FM Radio Station in 2008 and the winner of Best Team Effort in both 2008 and 2009. Our other Music Directors are also well decorated, with Brian Joseph winning the award for Best Specialty Music Director at the 2009 CMJ College Day Awards and Omar Husain winning Music Director of the Year in 2006, 2008, and 2011. Also exciting is the recent ranking of CJLO by the Huffington Post as one of the best college radio stations in 2010!

There are many ways to get in on the fun. Listen online, from home or in your car at 1690AM or come on down to Loyola campus at CC-430 (right across from the G-Lounge) and hang out or get involved.
