Emilia-Romagna community in Canada shares condolences and solidarity with earthquake victimsMay 24, 2012May 23, 2012 Ottawa, Canada - The Emiliana Association of Ottawa is deeply concerned about the results of the earthquake in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy."We wish to express condolences to the families and friends of victims who tragically lost their lives in the disaster? said Larry Bertuzzi, President. The Association is also very concerned about the many thousands who have been displaced due to damage to their homes while facing continued aftershocks." This is a sad situation and we are also worried about the damage to historic sites and cultural resources. Businesses have been severely hit,including factories and farmland. This will impact greatly on the local economy" said Anna Chiappa. "We commend the quick response by the authorities and wish to express solidarity with the affected communities", commented Carlo Rossi.
