The CDA is a national non-profit medical specialty organization whose membership is comprised of Canadian and international dermatologists. It publishes the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery six times per year, holds an annual four-day scientific conference in June, runs a Sun Protection Program, a Skin Health Program, and a Dermatology for Non-Dermatologists (D4nD) education program, and in 1989 it established and continues to organize the annual Sun Awareness Week (June 2 to June 8, 2014).

L'ACD est une société nationale sans but lucratif de spécialité médicale qui réunit des dermatologues du Canada et d'autres pays. L'Association publie une revue six fois l'an, le Journal of CutaneousMedicine and Surgery, tient chaque année en juin un congrès scientifique de quatre jours, dirige un Programme de protection solaire, un Programme de santé de la peau et un programme de formation à l'intention des médecins non dermatologues. En 1989, l'ACD a créé la Semaine de prudence au soleil qu'elle continue d'organiser chaque année depuis (la prochaine SPS aura lieu du 2 au 8 juin 2014).
