Machinists Ratify with City Motors

For Immediate ReleaseCorner Brook, NL – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 544 have ratified a new collective agreement with City Motors by a margin of 91 per cent.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases 4.5 per cent in the first year for qualified technicians if they attain Level 2 as per the Chrysler Certification and $ .50 per hour for the Parts Department personnel. The wage increase in the second year is 2 per cent for qualified technicians if they attain Level 3 as per the Chrysler Certification and $ .25 per hour for Parts Department personnel. Wage increases in the third year are 4 per cent for qualified technicians if they attain Level 4 as per the Chrysler Certification and $ .25 per hour for Parts Department personnel. Other agreement highlights include:
• A $500.00 signing bonus
• A letter of understanding regarding Training for Technician will be 12 days paid per year
The 13 members consist of technicians and Parts Department personnel. The IAMAW represents technicians and parts department personnel at a number of auto dealerships in Newfoundland and Labrador.
