IFIC Congratulates New Chair of CIFSCJanuary 3, 2014Toronto, ON January 3, 2014 The Investment Funds Institute of Canada congratulates Reid Baker (manager, analytics and data at Fundata Canada Inc.) on his election as chair of the Canadian Investment Funds Standards Committee (CIFSC), effective January 1, 2014.The establishment and maintenance of widely accepted classification standards is an essential service for mutual fund investors and fund industry participants, noted Joanne De Laurentiis, IFICs president and CEO. Reids steady leadership will guide the meticulous work of ensuring consistent set of categories. Following his appointment, Baker stated: "I look forward to 2014 as we have some interesting and exciting items on the horizon and we continue to build on whats been accomplished over the past few years." Outgoing Chair Brian Bridger, Director of Analytics and Data at Fundata Canada, will continue to participate in the role of Vice-Chair. "Thanks to Brian and the rest of the group for their continued participation and efforts in moving the committees initiatives forward," Baker added.
