IFIC Launches Investor Centre to Help Investors Make Informed DecisionsJuly 4, 2017Toronto, ON - July 4, 2017 - The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) today launched its new Investor Centre (https://investorcentre.ific.ca), with expanded content and contemporary features to help Canadians navigate their financial journeys.IFICs new Investor Centre reflects the industrys commitment to help investors make informed choices, said IFIC president and CEO Paul C. Bourque, Q.C. Informed investors make better decisions, are more disciplined about sticking with their investment plans, and have better quality conversations with their advisors. In addition to a wide range of articles on saving and investing, the Investor Centre contains a new Life Stages section with articles that are specifically geared to people at different points in life. Topics include: starting a business, preparing for the arrival of a new child, changing jobs, caring for a loved one, converting RRSPs to RRIFs, planning your estate and much more. Canadians are faced with important financial decisions at every stage of life, Bourque noted. Our new Investor Centre provides something for everyone from students and young adults, to people in their working years and those who have retired. The Investor Centres contemporary design provides the capacity to simultaneously display multiple items on diverse topics. Links at the end of each article help visitors seamlessly navigate the site. These features will make it easier for visitors to identify the information that is most relevant to them. Articles will guide readers who want to dig deeper to relevant information from federal and provincial governments, regulators and financial literacy groups to complement and supplement IFICs insights and tips. Financial literacy is a priority at IFIC. The industry is committed to being a leading resource for investor-friendly content on saving and investing, Bourque said. We will supplement our materials with resources from governments, regulators and agencies to ensure Canadians can access the best and latest information from a variety of sources. The Investor Centre is enabled for tablet and smartphone use and has accessibility features to address the needs of people with visual and hearing impairments.
