New Canadian Festival in Waterloo, and Made Viewable Online to the WorldJune 5, 2009Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, June 1, 2009 – Dr. Neil Turok, Director of Perimeter Institute, and John Matlock, Director of External Relations and Outreach, will announce details on June 12th, 2009, of an innovative, public science festival coming in October, 2009.For 10 exciting days this October, Perimeter Institute′s Quantum to Cosmos: Ideas for the Future festival will take audiences from the strange world of subatomic particles to the outer frontiers of the universe – examining fascinating topics in detail, such as new forms of quantum communication, scientific visualization, green technologies and space exploration. The festival will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Perimeter Institute′s creation, will contribute to Canada′s National Science and Technology Week activities and will be one of North America′s premier events during this International Year of Astronomy. Quantum to Cosmos (Q2C) will transcend traditional festivals by streaming events live and on demand, providing viewing and social media opportunities for students, teachers and members of the general public across Canada and around the world.
