Hospitalized Ventilated Patients Transition from Hospital to Breathing Easier at HomeSeptember 14, 2010Toronto, ON The College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) is holding a one-day conference on Thursday, September 16th, 2010 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort & Conference Centre in Mississauga, presenting the results of their MOHLTC/HealthForceOntario-funded project to assist long-term ventilated patients transition from hospital to home.- Stacy Sweeney, mom to Kayne, who is now 2 years old and has been ventilated since his premature birth at 28 weeks, will share her familys story/ experience of being able to bring Kayne home from the hospital. - Biljana, wife of Ivan Dulanovic, will also discuss the value of this project in allowing Ivan to transition to his home. - Christine Robinson, Registrar and CEO of the CRTO says this project gave a greater degree of independence to the participants changing their image from patients to brothers & sisters, sons & daughters, and mothers & fathers.
