Description: Bliss Carman Poetry Award -- Deadline: November 30, annually. $1000, $500, $250 cash prizes. One, two or three poems per entry, totalling no more than 150 lines in all. The first prize winner also receives a replica of Bliss Carman's silver and turquoise ring. First prize and ring sponsored by The Banff Centre for the Arts.
Short Fiction Contest -- Deadline: November 30, annually. $1000, $500, $250 cash prizes. One story per entry. Minimum 1,500 words, maximum 15,000 words.
Creative Non-Fiction -- Deadline: November 30, annually. $1000, $500, $250 cash prizes. One article per entry. Maximum 5,000 words.
Further Details: $27 entry fee per contest which includes a one-year (4 issues) subscription to Prairie Fire magazine for the first entry in each category only. Winning entries are published in Prairie Fire, the authors paid for publication.
