Winners' Circle International Short Story and Essay Contest

Deadline: January 31st

Eligibility: Maximum 4,000 words. Submissions limited to 5 short stories per person which have not been previously published.

Value: Best overall prize $500; Second prize $200, $100 third prize, and 2 honourable mentions.

Description: The Winners' Circle International Short Story and Essay Contest features 5 awards, with one overall best submission prize. Submissions will be evaluated by students of York University's Creative Writing Program, and an established literary writer will act as final judge and rank the top five selections. All 5 winners will be published in York University's literary magazine, Existere.
