The Canadian Society for Training and Development (CSTD) recognizes sixteen senior business leaders who understand this relationship and are active advocates of learning in the workplace. Training is important, but in order to maximize ROI, you really need to design courses that help people learn, and you need to demonstrate the clear benefit of the training for their future, says Allen Batchelar, CEO of Commissionaires BC. Our approach is results-orientated and participant-centred. We build on existing knowledge and experience so that participants skills will improve, no matter where they start. We challenge participants in practical ways, helping them to translate what they have learned to their work environment. This years Learning Leaders invest in their employees and their communities, which in turn supports an economy on the mend, said Lynn Johnston, President of CSTD.
