Reclaiming the Future: A Feminist Perspective

Toronto, Ontario – Canadian Voice of Women for Peace (VOW) will present Reclaiming the Future: A Feminist Perspective, a 3-day conference, taking place November 8 and 9th at the First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto, and 10th at Toronto Metro Hall.

The 3-day conference will highlight current actions of peace activists, scholars and educators, and their visions for reclaiming the future, featuring guest speakers including Marilou McPhedran, the UN Human Rights Fellow for the Geneva Office of UNFPA and Wanda Nanibush, an Anishinabe-kwe writer, media creator, curator, community animator, arts consultant and Idle No More organizer from Beausoleil First Nation.

Conference Details:
Day 1 –Friday, November 8, 6-9pm
Middle Eastern Dinner sponsored by Ghazale and entertainment – spoken word, music and sacred circle dancing

Day 2 – Saturday, November 9, 8:30am-4:30pm, 7:30pm
Full day of workshops and activities
Benefit Concert and Reception, classical pianist Pierre Jasmin and “Mother and Daughter - Singing for Peace”, Sandy Greenberg and Lise Cormier

Day 3 – Sunday, November 10, 9:30am- 4:30pm
Annual General Meeting
