Kasha, a social entrepreneur has been on a path for social good since she was 8 years old and was the youngest member to sign up at the age of 14 with Canadas longest-standing feminist peace organization. Since then she has joined the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace as a youth delegate 3x on their annual trip down to The United Nations Commission on Status of Women. After attending their inaugural summer youth peace camp and attending the UN, Kasha was inspired to create The Global Sunrise Project, to put her storytelling talents to use for social good and enlisted her mother in her cause. Last year, supported entirely by community fundraising efforts, she took time off of high school to travel the world with her mom for six months in search of stories of resilience, inspiration and empowered leadership. Since her return to school in January 2015, Kasha, also known as the The Sunrise Storyteller, has been working on editing her documentary film, compiling a book of this journey - Reflections of the Sunrise Storyteller, as well as has a 32 piece travelling exhibition Travels into the Heart. -- 30 For more information contact: Sandra Ruch National coordinator Canadian Voice of Women for Peace Phone: 416-603-7915 Cell: 416-716-4010 Email: info@vowpeace.org Website: vowpeace.org Marla abd Kasha Slavner The Global Sunrise Project Email: theglobalsunriseproject@gmail.com Website: theglobalsunriseproject.com Click here to view our Sources Listing: Canadian Voice of Women for PeaceTopics:
